Our Beliefs

We Believe:

1. The Bible, including both the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, contains all that is needed for salvation, is the final authority of our faith, and is without error. Apparent contradictions, doctrinal and denominational differences result from man’s imperfect and limited understanding. 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 1 Corinthians 13: 12 For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know fully even as also I was fully known.

2. There is only one true, eternal, all-powerful God and is revealed in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28: 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Luke 3:22 and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."

3. Mankind was created in the image of God to fellowship with Him, fell to sin through the actions of Adam, and became subject to spiritual and physical death. Mankind is unable, through any works of his own, to restore the broken relationship with God. Genesis 1: 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Romans 5: 12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned. Ephesians 2: 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

4. Jesus, through death on the cross, became the single, perfect, atoning sacrifice for our sins, our only means of salvation. He was born of a virgin, led a sinless life, was crucified, resurrected and now sits at the right hand of God interceding for us. 2 Corinthians 5: 21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Matthew 1: 23 "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" --which means, "God with us." Matthew 28: 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

Acts 4: 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."

Hebrews 1: 3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven

5. The Holy Spirit draws believers to the point of conversion and indwells them thereafter. He convicts us of sin, guides us into truth, gifts and empowers us for ministry. We believe in the Filling, or Baptism, of the Holy Spirit as in the book of Acts, and the manifestations of the Spirit as in 1st Corinthians. We believe these are often separate, distinct experiences and are available to believers today. Romans 8: 9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ.

Acts 2: 1 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. I Corinthians 7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

6. The Church, or Body Of Christ, consists of all believers who repent of their sins and confess Jesus as Lord. Jesus Christ is the head of the Church, its purpose is to glorify God and make Him known to the lost world. Ephesians 1: 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

1 Peter 2: 9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Corinthians 12: 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28 And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. Matthew 28: 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

7. In the coming Rapture of the Church, both the living and the dead. 1 Thessalonians 4: 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

8. Jesus will return to Earth, overthrow Satan, and rule as King. At the final judgment, those not found in the book of life will be condemned to eternal punishment with Satan and his angels. The believers will eternally enjoy God’s presence in a new Heaven and new Earth. Revelation 19:11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. 15 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Revelation 20: 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 21: 1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.
